Toba Hawthorn Crataegus x mordenensis 'Toba'

A unique, underused, vase shaped, small, flowering and highly ornamental tree. It is small in stature allowing it to grow in smaller areas.  One of the hardiest of Hawthorns. It bears beautiful fragrant, large, double white flowers that turn to pink; glossy foliage, and 1/2 inch red fruit. The interesting yellow bark that grows to be a twisted grey trunk  is an added ornamental feature. This tree does best in full sun to partial shade. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist growing conditions, but will not tolerate any standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution.
